The Southwest Florida Water Management District is one of five regional agencies in Florida directed to protect and preserve water resources within its boundaries. The District owns or has an interest in more than 448,000 acres of conservation lands. Many of these lands are open to the public and several are managed as county or state parks. The District is currently seeking a partner to operate its 170-acre Flying Eagle Nature Center in Inverness, FL.
